Too often, women move from one goal to the next without taking a moment to breathe. I used to do that constantly finish one thing, check it off, and immediately run toward the next. Even back in my corporate days, I was so focused on achieving that I rarely stopped to honour the woman behind the work.

Over the years, I realized how easily we forget to celebrate the small things that truly add up the courage to start again, the resilience to keep showing up, and the quiet wins no one else sees. We get caught up comparing our pace or progress to what’s happening around us, and suddenly, we start believing we’re not doing enough.

Owning your spotlight isn’t about ego, it’s about self-recognition. It’s looking at your journey and saying, “I did this. I made it through. I kept going.”

When I look back at the past 18 months, building two major GlowUp Moms events from the ground up, partnering with corporate sponsors, and simultaneously navigating new motherhood, I see how easily I fell into the same trap: believing I had to keep going, keep producing, keep proving.

I gave birth, pivoted my business, and watched my son grow from an infant to a toddler, all while building something that would later become a movement. And yet, I often forgot to pause and acknowledge myself.

Celebration is leadership. It’s how we integrate our growth, restore our confidence, and create space for what’s next.
